Report allergens
As of July 1, a list of 14 allergens will be available; substances causing allergies or intolerances will have to be indicated on the labels, a decision taken by European directives. “The French government has chosen to leave it up to operators to use the system that suits them best and allows them (…) to fulfil this obligation”.
It is intended to allow allergic consumers to be informed of the risk they are running.
The indication of the 14 allergens will also be valid for pre-packaged foods for those that are not.
More clearly, the list should be accessible to all consumers in restaurants, canteens or fast food outlets.
